Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed Malaysia) is the international branch campus of Newcastle University, UK, a Russell Group research-intensive university, based at EduCity Iskandar in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, around 8km from the Second Link crossing to Singapore and about 25km from Johor Bahru.
It offers a Foundation in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, an MBBS, and a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences, taught to the same curriculum and assessment standards as the UK campus, at a significantly reduced cost. The MBBS is recognised by the UK's General Medical Council, with registration subject to local requirements at the time.
More than 80% of recent graduates have gone on to become UK Foundation Doctors. Career Services on both the Malaysia and UK campuses support CVs, internships, housemanship and UK Foundation Training applications, alongside early clinical exposure, research opportunities, and exchange or elective placements at Newcastle University, UK.

Student life, support and facilities
Students benefit from early clinical exposure, research opportunities, and exchange or elective placements at Newcastle University in the UK, alongside more than 30 clubs and societies led by the NUMed Student Association.
Every student has a Personal Tutor and access to student mentors, mental health and counselling services, and support for long-term conditions.
Campus facilities include lecture theatres, clinical skills labs, a Learning Resources Centre, a mini-gym, dance studios, a pool table, cafés, food trucks, a garden, and lounges, with 24/7 security and a free regular shuttle to NUMed-managed accommodation.
