University of Huddersfield
The University of Huddersfield is a modern public university in West Yorkshire, on a site that has hosted academic institutions since the 19th century. Leeds and Manchester are both about 30 minutes away by train, giving students easy access to two major UK cities alongside the university’s own town.
The town itself has a lively cultural calendar, including the Contemporary Music Festival, the Food and Drink Festival and a Literature Festival, plus local sports teams such as the Huddersfield Giants rugby league club and Huddersfield Town AFC. The surrounding Pennine Hills offer outdoor activities, and the Kingsgate Shopping Centre and The Packhorse Centre sit close to campus.
Student life runs through more than 110 clubs and societies and the university’s own Athletic Union, including the Huddersfield Hawks American football club and the Huddersfield Blue Ghosts rugby league club.
